Reflection 4

For the last quarter, I have learned so many things in the subject ICT and while learning throughout theast quarter. I had many discoveries that I made in which those discoveries I had with my classmates was all about on how to use Photoshop. How and what to edit in a picture until they have a beautiful design for the person to be motivated in reading the web. For me not knowing about some simple steps on how to photoshop, I feel so out of place but now that I've learned about it, I feel so proud that I am now able to edit ot a picture.

Though while I was learning about the the photoshop, and how and what to edit in a picture. I have encountered problems during the editing  of a poster for our project. For not knowing some basic steps in photoshopping, it was hard since one must know or they will not be able to make a beautiful poster or picture.

Regardless of this, I am thankful that my hard work on being able to edit has made me more confident in  photoshopping. That while doing this, I continue to have more confidence and at the same time I am having fun. Even though it's hard, I think to myself that this is for the betterment of me to know things like doing a simple web design.

Moving on, I will continue to remember how to photoshop  because it's very fun. And I continue to look forward to the new things that I might learn in the near future.

My Dream, My Future

“The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.”

— Mark Twain

Some people already have their goals set and some are still struggling on what they want to be in the future, and I am one of them. But to think that I wanted to become so many things when I was a child made me rethink on what I really should take now.

When I was a child, I dreamt of many things. I’ve wanted to be a nurse, a doctor, a painter and many many other things I could think of as a child. But what is my dream now?

Well my dream is to be a successful engineer like my uncle. Just like him, when I finnaly get to be an engineer, I want to travel the world with my family and have my parents enjoy their lives because of their sacrifices for me.

Kannawidan Festival

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”. This festival at the end of January celebrates the best of Ilocos Sur culture, from traditional dress and folk dance to tribal rituals and marching band contests.
And by celebrating it, popular artists and popular bands from around the Philippines came and showed an enjoyable show to the people who visited the Tamag Grounds.

Things  like dance craze, battle of the bands, Mr. Kannawidan muscle showdown, Search for Saniata, car and motorcycle show, street dancing and showdown of OTOPs where also shown.

117th High School Day Celebration

A celebration is a special enjoyable event that people organize because something pleasant has happened. And in this case, ours is to celebrate the foundation of our school.

One of the most awaited occassions in any school is the Foundation Day. Great excitement, fun activties and many more other things memorable for the people of the Ilocos Sur National High School. Not only the staffs, teachers and students of ISNHS may celebrate this but others like family and friends outside school may celebrate it with us. They are filled with excitement when watchibg the teachers and students show a field demo, which is the school’s tradition. By participating in watching the school’s activities even when they are not involved in the activites like parade and the field demo. But by watching their family or friend paticipating in it, it is enough for them to enjoy it altogether.

Change Starts with Me

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.” — Leo Tolstoy

As a youth, on our stage of life of still developing, I must learn to see the beauty of our world. That I should help making it more peaceful and happy.

I will see to it that I will be a good daughter to my parents, a role model to my sibling and to my friends. I will make sure that I will be a good citizen to help our society a better place.

My New Year

“Staycation” is the word they use when one stays home during vacation and that’s exactly what I did.
Everyone was in festive mood as usual during and after Christmas. It was a very busy day in particular during the New years Eve as we get to prepare for the food for New year’s celebration. I got to bake some goodies with my Aunt. We baked banana muffin and brownies which i shared with the kids in our neighborhood. I can say it was pretty good since they keep asking for more. Afterwhich,  I play  mobile legends with my brother and binge watched some Netflix series with my Aunt. We’ve watched The Christmas Chronicles, a film about siblings who accidentally caught Santa Claus and get to join him in his adventure. We also watched Bird Box,  about an unexplained phenomenon when one get to look a supernatural entities you die by forcing a suicide. And then we sang along with Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium Tour Concert.
After that we went to stroll around in Vigan with my uncle who came home for vacation from Manila. We walked along Vigan heritage with our dog Chloe and Max.
At night, we had a simple dinner with my family and watched the Holy Mass on TV as we are afraid of firecrackers.
On New Year’s day,
Another relative on my father’s side also arrived from Manila, my Zio Roder and Zia Glen, we went to Robinson’s Ilocos Norte. We did a little shopping  for me and my brother as our Christmas gift from them.
So overall, my New Year was exhausting but I enjoyed it alot as i get to be with my loved ones.

CHILDREN: HOW IMPORTANT ARE THEY IN THE WORLD

Dr. Jose Rizal once said, “Kabataan ang pagasa ng Bayan” in which it is translated in English, “Our young children are our country’s only hope”

Children are the ones who are essential for deciding how the world is going to be after some years. So as early as at a young age, parents should raise their children with a positive discipline. So that children will be more responsible especially with their studies.

Nowadays, young children, reffered as millenials are prone to social media which is a big factor for being irrresopinsible. Because of the things they are seeing in the internet, some of the children are badly influenced like they are involved with some crimes. But if only their parents raise them properly and guide them as they grow then maybe there is at least a slightest hope that their future will be at a good hand and a bright future for the society they live in.

Article 2: Pagbasa: Susi sa Magandang Kinabukasan

Reading, writing and speaking is this month's theme all about. For this month's theme is talking about the importance of reading and writing being a key to a good future.

It is true that without reading and writing as our skills, we wouldn't have any basic communicating skills today. We won't be able to communicate to the fullest because of us not having the simple skills of reading and writing we are limited in terms of communicating with others.

Learning to reading to writing and to communicating. Without these things taught to us by our parents at a young age, we wouldn't have any enough knowledge. But by being taught we are benefited by gaining knowledge, memory improvement, stronger analytical skills, improve focus and concentration.

Importance of Math and Science

Everyone knows that the subjects Math and Science are hard. But Math is important to us all even after we graduate from school because is not just restricted to problem solving. The real benefit of math is how it trains the brain to think critically and practice various techniques to solve a problem. Science is also important  because it helps in building a strong foundation of concepts that support the learning ability of a child throughout his / her academic life. It helps in understanding key concepts of science and enables them to understand more abstract ideas as well.

So when you encounter the unexpected, when you arrive at a solution that doesn’t make intuitive sense, you’ve got two options: Either you figure that your intuition is bad and derive the corollary that you’re bad at math and science. Or you realize that the world is so magnificently complex that intuition is not the best tool to understand how it all works. I think a lot of people opt for the former, but there is joy in accepting the latter.

Filipino's Capabilities to Adjust through Misfortunes

The Philippines is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world. Because of it's location, near the large Pacific Ocean Region where many of of the volcanic eruptions occur (The Ring of Fire). It is also in a weather pathway near the equator known as the "typhoon belt".

Yearly, atleast 20 typhoons hit our poor country. Because the Western Pacific Ocean region where typhoons are formed is located at the East of the Philippines. Just last month, a state of calamity has been declared in several provinces in Northern Philippines, including Manila after the non-stop rain.

The continuous rain brought by two successive typhoons affected some areas and shut down some Educational Institutions and Government Offices. Some town had evacuated to temporary shelters.
Filipinos are nothing if not resilient in their time at calamities. Over the years, our Government has learned their lessons on how to respond and be prepared on any natural disaster.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) together with Department of Social Welfare and Development and some government agencies work together to help Filipinos at anytime in need.

Maybe or not probably, it is the Filipino's sense of humor that is always on it's height while experiencing a disaster. They like to make fun out of themselves while in the middle of it.

Citizens who belong to the work force do their very best to be on their respective jobs no matter how long it takes and how hard it seems to be.

Well, no amount of words can express how Filipinos look at calamities and disasters at a different perspective. They have accepted that calamities come and go. What matters most is how they make something good out of them. Resilience is a character that Filipinos are very proud of: being hopeful, happy, and positive while experiencing unfavorable and hard situations such as calamities.

Reflection

For the first quarter, I have learned so many things in the subject ICT and while learning throughout the first quarter. I had many discoveries that I made in which those discoveries I had with my classmates was all about internet, blogs, and to whom and when and how it all started until they are able to create these. For me not knowing about the creators of the internet I feel so out of place but now that I've learned about them, I feel so proud.

Though while I was learning about the internet, blogs and the history of it. I have encountered problems during the first quarter like on how to make blogs and learning the history. Not only is this my problem at first but also having not enough time to make all of the requirements because they all came at me at once.

Regardless of this, I am thankful that my hard work in to making blogs like this has made me more confident in making blogs. That while doing this, I continue to have more confidence and at the same time I am having fun. Even though it's hard I think to myself that this is for the betterment of me to know things like doing a simple blog.

Moving on, I will continue to make blogs like this because it's very fun. And I continue look forward to the new things that I might learn in the near future.

Nutrition Month

It is important for us to plant vegetables and trees because they provide us with so many benefits. Because without plants, trees and crops we will die. These provide us with oxygen that we use to breathe. They also serve as prevention from floods and landslides. They give us shade and food. As it says in the food pyramid, we should eat vegetables and fruits for us to grow strong and healthy, because thee are healthier than meat and fish.

There are so many things that planting can give us. So we have to plant for the betterment of our lives and the progress of our country.

President Duterte's SONA

The President has delivered his 3rd State of the Nation address last July 23,2018 at the Batasang Pambansa Complex. It may seemed boring for us students to listen about the long speech but for me I found it a bit interesting. Because my family is really a fan of President Duterte for there is a word of honor in everything he said. Like when he said his platform during the 2016 Presidential Campaign where his top of the lists are on crimes, corruption and drugs.

For 2 years of serving for our nation, he is still very concern with all the promises he made. When he said "your concern is human rights, mine is human lives." You can feel that he was truly serious  to fight illegal drugs despite of all these who protest against him. He promised that it will not stop and  he still is as relentless as he was in the beginning. This made me more hopeful for living in  a drug-free society means there will be lesser crimes.

For fighting corruption: he said " stolen wealth does not make you respectable." He value friendship but it has limits he said.

For years, he is the only President who wanted corruption to cease. For he is willing to give up friendship if proven they are irregularities with their work as a government officials.

Compared to his previous SONA, this was the shortest which lasted only for less than an hour but still the most beautiful speech he delivered for he tackled all the important issues concerning everything like vows, in education, in health and in economic development.

President Rodrigo Duterte is surely a foul-mouthed person but he is still the best President we ever had yet.
